We are pleased to announce the second annual Warrior4s Memorial Soccer Tournament being held in Regina, Saskatchewan on April 4, 2020. This co-ed 4-on-4 adult soccer tournament, hosted at Queen City Soccer Centre, aims to engage families and young professionals in a fun active event to raise funds to help families in the province of Saskatchewan who have children with serious or urgent medical needs.
The tournament honours the memory of Sebastian Daniel Schick Bogdan, a beautiful vibrant 4 year old boy who became suddenly ill in October 2017 and passed away weeks later. Sebastian’s family understands the need for high level care for sick kids in the province of Saskatchewan, and the significant stress that is added when families have to leave the province for treatment.
Our inaugural event, combined with online donations, raised over 30,000 dollars for the Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital Foundation (JPCHF). Sebastian’s mother, Andrea Schick, was able to attend a preview tour of this amazing and important new facility prior to its opening. All proceeds will support the JPCHF, which funds urgent pediatric and maternal needs for Saskatchewan children and moms-to-be, and the Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital, which opened in the fall of 2019. We are now inspired to continue our efforts and name a room in Sebastian’s honor at the hospital, and a new fundraising goal of $250,000 in 5 years.
This friendly tournament will encourage friends and family to participate in a fun day to support an exceptional cause. Our event will include an adult soccer tournament and midday children’s fun soccer themed events, targeting young families and professionals. The public can support this event by entering a team, donating to the cause in person or through the JPCHF website, participating in silent auction, or joining us on event day as a player or volunteer.
